Storyteller’s Creed

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

That myth is more potent than history.

That dreams are more powerful than facts.

That hope always triumphs over experience.

That laughter is the only cure for grief.

And I believe that love is stronger than death.

Take a Look Around...

Dear Reader:

Just a small reference there to Lemony Snicket in A Series of Unfortunate Events. Those of you who have listened to his audiobooks know what I'm talking about. Those of you who have not must.
President Fantasy here! It's been a while (a week? Less? I don't know...) and I'm here for a few announcements...and just to say hi!
Number One...I just ordered my five free copies of Sunset, Oregon! I'm very excited. We're still waiting on Tiger and Dreamer's proofs, but the hope is that they'll get in by tomorrow night and they'll get their copies! (Especially after I spent so much flippin' work on their covers and formatting!!!)
Number Two...a big congratulations to Tiger, who finally finished Over the River and Through the Woods! Great job, Tiger, I knew you could do it, you finally finished, and I'm proud of you.
Number Three...I know officially that I'm going to write Evermore for this NaNoWriMo -- and I already know the basic plot. :)
Number Four...The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an excellent book. Some language and stuff...but excellent. Also, The Book Thief, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Hank the Cowdog are all excellent books. The books in the Septimus Heap series are not, however, excellent books. If you want to know my position on the Septimus Heap books, then just ask me -- I can go on for a long time about them -- or Tiger (she can tell you all about it).
Number Five...huh...what was Number Five? I totally forgot.
  Wait...right. I forgot about that.
  Hi!

I Haven't Done a Post in June!

AH!!! Well, I'll remedy that problem right now with a quick post.
First off, an announcement: Deadline for the five free copies in NaNoWriMo is this Sunday. The book also has to be properly formatted and stuff. I can do that for you, but if I could have the actual electronic manuscript (PDF is always nice) to format by Saturday morning (at the latest) that would be lovely. If you want a different cover design than you already have, too, let me know and I'll work on that for you. It would be best to order them Saturday night so there's no problem. So...get cracking! Remember: If you want them formatted, Saturday morning is the best time to have them done.
And also, the deadline for the annual contest has been DEFINITELY extended. So far I've received no entries for the contest, but considering the other important deadline, that's understandable. So yeah, the deadline is extended indefinitely, but I'll give you a heads up when the deadline's coming up -- probably sometime in July.
Also, June was a Camp NaNoWriMo month (which I forgot about till AFTER it happened), but so is August. I'm planning on just doing November -- trying to do two NaNoWriMos per year is a daunting prospect, but if you feel the need to write a novel, long or short, in August, go ahead and visit www.campnanowrimo.org, and sign in. You can use your Young Writers NaNoWriMo account.
That's the end of my announcements. Have a great day, and don't trust...um...
I've used that expression too much. Dang it, Phil! Now that you're good, I can't say not to trust you!
How about "If you see any dark roads soon...be wary."
  It'll have to do.

A quote, a quote, how I love those quotes!

Hey, Astians! Hey, wait, why is this is bold? One second... there we go. No more bold! Anyway, I have a few more quotes I want to put on the Amazing Quotes page. One: possibly, I might want to put this one there, "I feel like I just got buff!" Two: I don't remember, but it was good. I was hanging out with the awesome Klomparen folk, and I wanted to put something on the Amazing Quotes page, but I don't remember it now... urgh! Dreamer, President Fantasy, do you know what I said?

Anyway, Poppy, now that I think about it, you need an amazing quote on the Amazing Quotes page! If you have said something funny or witty recently that you remember, please write it in a post and maybe President Fantasy can put it up! So... yeah. Peace out, Astians!

Hey, we need a new post...

Hey fellow Clubbers! I might agree with President Fantasy about calling us Clubbers, because grasshoppers just sounds harsh. Anyway, we need a new post on this blog, so I decided to make one.
So first of all, (even thought this doesn't have to do with writing) the Klomparens hosted a piano recital for all of Miss Amy Klomparen's students. It was fun, but nerve-wracking. Second, on Saturday, we're going to be having a play at a church in Lake Stevens. It is Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. President Fantasy is playing Beatrice, Dreamer is playing Hero and I am Leonata. Since on here, we are all in the play, or in Califorina, I wouldn't add that if you can come, you should come. That's preety much it, actually. So... yeah. See you later, guys!

Contest info!

Hello peoples! I was hearing a lot of questions about the contest that I am holding! Here are some facts that will help you:
1. My limit is 10 pages, but if you wrote a 20 page story then you can choose your 10 best pages and fill in the stuff in between!
2. I cannot read your stories until the deadline which has been move to June 25 because of our little Lake Chelan trip!
There really were not that many questions but I hope that that clears them up! Poppy you probably have not herd of this contest but I can tell you what it is: you write a short story, as I have said before my limit is 10 pages, and after you have written them just get them all together and post them at the deadline! I will post a certificate for you on the blog
P.S. Everybody gets a prize!
