Storyteller’s Creed

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

That myth is more potent than history.

That dreams are more powerful than facts.

That hope always triumphs over experience.

That laughter is the only cure for grief.

And I believe that love is stronger than death.

Well, I've made a few changes. Whoa! It's been a while since we've had a good overhaul of the system, so I deemed it appropriate. Tell me what you think in a comment!

Script Frenzy Update -- Not the First, and it Won't Be the Last...

Howdy, y'all! Since when do I speak in a cowboy accent? Well...I don't. So I don't know why we're even having this conversation.
Anyway, it's been a little while since I wrote a post and updated and I'm sure you all think that I've abandoned you on the side of the road. AND what's up with the fact that there was new Back Door Conspiracy post this week? (Since I know you all wait so eagerly for each new installment...Ha ha ha.) Anyway...I'm digressing. Again.
So, since I have quite a few things to get through, I'll number them, so that I won't digress.
  1. I'm learning the song Piano Man on the piano, and I love it, and it's a fantastic song. Really. Look it up, or ask me to play it for you. It is really good!
  2. Script Frenzy: Well, Tiger and Dreamer have both opted out. So it's just Katie and I doing it now. We have a plotline figured out. I personally think it's a pretty good idea. It's going to be a screenplay, and the idea is that I will post it on the blog as we write it. So stay tuned for that!
  3. Back Door Conspiracy: Installment 9 will be up sometime very soon. I'm -- I mean, Nathan is -- just a little bit late this week. I'm sure he's on some very important mission, or he's been captured or something.
  4. At the end of June is the deadline for ordering your 5 free copies of your novel from NaNoWriMo! So get on editing and/or finishing those! The future of your novel and giving it out to people depends on it!
  5. Our blog has a new post editor design, so if you get on and the dashboard and stuff looks totally different, don't worry. Just click on view blog, and if you're signed in, it should show you the same old "New Post" sign in the corner. The actual post editor looks pretty different, but don't be intimidated. It's basically the same thing.
  6. I think it's time we had a change of picture, don't you? The sun rising is getting a little bit old. And it's time we got a different font for the title. How about I get on that?
That's all for now, Sembers. (I'm looking for a different name. I thought of one...but then I forgot it. So I'll try to remember it.) See you on the other side of the glass!
-Presid--
WAIT!!! Stop!!! I forgot my seventh point!
  7. EPISODE 45 OF THE CEILING FAN IS NOT UP YET!!! WHY????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  Okay. I'm good now.
Wait! No! I forgot number 8.
  8. I am still working on putting together the first (sort of) official LOTP music video. (That's what I'm calling it, anyways.) I'll have that together sometime soon. Hopefully. Fingers crossed!
Okay. Now I really am done. See you on the flipside!

Tiger I have some news for you!!!

I just thought that maybe, we could make our page count twenty pages. And that way, we can both miss five days! And that would mean you would only have to write every other day for ten days on your part and ten on my part! Won't that be fun!!! I hope that convinced you to do it! Remember if you don't want to do it, DON'T DO IT!!! Hope you will do it though! By all.

More Script Frenzy Info

Okay. So now that we have some partners figured out (Tiger and Dreamer will be pairing up as long as they both want to do it.)
I am also pairing up with Katie Penry, which means...we all need to get started on figuring out storylines and page counts and stuff!
So here's some info on actually getting your partner on the Script Frenzy site.
To create a Script Frenzy account, click here: http://ywp.scriptfrenzy.org/user/register
Now, to get your partner: Go to Edit My Frenzy, and under that, click on Edit Writer Info, and scroll down to where there is a little text box with "Partner" next to it. Now, if I were Tiger and I knew Dreamer's username was Dreamer42, I would type Dreamer42 into the box and submit. Then, once the other person submits your name in, the partnership's confirmed. You both decide on a page count and get going!
(By the way: My username is President Fantasy)
That's all for now. Have fun!

President Fantasy has her heart set that I join Script Frenzy...

Like I said in the title, President Fantasy is toatlly trying to convince me to join Script Frenzy. Speaking of that, or rather, reminding me of NaNoWriMo, I have to friend my skiing buddy Isis... but that is beyond the point. Since President Fantasy wants me to join this, I told her that I didn't want to have to work on two stories at once, so she said to break up my story into sections. If I finish a section a day, the day I finish my book would be the day before April 1st, (that is to say, April Fool's Day!). She said that before I start writing my sections of my story, I must list them here. Since she is the President here, my friend and my Klompson sister, I will do it. Here are the sections I must finish to complete my story.
1. Go back and write the important scene with Jeremiab
2. The creepy forest scene
3. The other river scene
4. They are finally at Grandma's house
5. The big explaination
6. Traveling to Rimlore
7. Flordia!
8. The big battle
9. The ending... sort of
10. Probably I look for plot holes and edit here
11. I may want another chapter here
12. It depends on what I wrote for the 10th and 11th sections. If I chose not to write another short chapter, I would edit. If I did, I have to finish the chapter! (Which is going to be short!)

So there you have it. That is all I have to say. Ciao! :) :) :) :)

New Script Frenzy Updates

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, everybody! (Imagine me saying that on a stage with arms widespread in a hat and cane).
Okay, so, after deliberating and doing careful research and thought (NOT!), I have come up with a solution for the partnering. Take a look at this complicated diagram and tell me what you think.

Partner 1                         Partner 2
Dreamer..........................Tiger
President Fantasy............Katie Penry

Does that work for everybody? So Dreamer and Tiger would pair up, and Katie and I would pair up -- if, of course, you want to, Miss Katie Penry. You mentioned in a comment that you would like a partner for Script Frenzy, so if you would like, I would be happy to extend my...partnership.
And as for Tiger and Dreamer, well, their script will end up being something wacky. Like, really crazy.
So is everybody good with these pairings? Let me know in a comment, and I'll include more info about account stuff and partnering in a new post.
All right. See you round town! (What town? Oooh...stay tuned!)

Script Frenzy

Okay, so I have a confirmation from Dreamer and a tentative yes from Tiger (not on the blog -- through one of our countless other methods of communication) on doing Script Frenzy. I also know that Katie Penry of NaNoWriMo fame is thinking about trying it. And the way that the contest works, partnerships can work across the country. So if all four of us do it, we can divide into two pairs.
Anyway, we need to figure this out soon, because plots must be decided before April. So we only have Tiger, Dreamer, and I, I'll work by myself (or some other group of three -- I'm definitely doing it), but if we have four, we'll figure out partnerships then.
Now, I'll tell you a bit more about Script Frenzy. Instead of a word count, you have a page count -- the goal is to get to 100 pages before the end of the month, or whatever goal you've set. Getting to 100 pages is not actually that hard, since when writing a script, writing tends to be more spaced out than other types of writing. Unlike NaNoWriMo, you can work as partners who both upload pages onto a common script page (I don't know exactly how that works yet.) The script can be a screenplay (a movie script), a stage play, or a comic book script. (They write scripts too, you know!) Personally, I think it might be fun to do like a Shakespeare type play. Or maybe not.
I'll talk to Tiger again, and we'll figure this out. Au revoir! (Meaning literally in French, "Until we meet again.")

P.S. Right, I almost forgot -- if you want to make an account now, you can click on this link to go to ywp.scriptfrenzy.org

Really Important Stuff

  ATTENTION! COMMENT PLEASE!
What is up, everybody? Wow! I haven't made a post in, like...pretty much exactly one week! So how's it going? I've been really busy with the National Latin Exam, writing poetry for English, writing -- oops -- supervising the next Back Door Conspiracy post. Oh, yeah, and reading The Ranger's Apprentice. (Those books are really good!)
Anyway, I have a bit of an announcement: Script Frenzy is in April, and I was wondering who wants to do it. There's something new about Script Frenzy: You can work with a partner. They have an official way to do that on the website. So, if anyone wants to do Script Frenzy...we can definitely work out a few partnerships!
So, if you're interested in participating in Script Frenzy (and possibly forging a partnership), please write a comment below! If we have three people participating in Script Frenzy (like Tiger, Dreamer, and I), we may need to find someone else to make another partnership. We'll see what happens.
All right. Night, all! Don't forget to comment and say whether you're planning on participating! (Ooh...alliteration!)

I Heart Tiger

I think that Tiger is just the best Secretary ever do any of you agree? Well if you said no you are insane. She is awesome.
Super
Amazing
Magnificent
A great seceratary
Narly
Terrific
Honest and sincere
Astounding

This is a shirt I should wear someday!
(I thought you would like the tie-dye!)
I think that Tiger is so amazing I absolutely want to where that shirt somewhere. Tiger I could rant on and on about you. But to make sure that I don't waist your time, I will not.

One last thing I wanted to put these jokes in here:

Why didn't the skeleton cross the road?

What do you get if you cross a grumpy cow?

Answers:
1st joke answer:
Because he didn't have the guts!
2nd joke answer:
A kick!

Here is also some code that everyone can learn!

What you do for this code is you shift your hands over to a different side then your fingers are supposed to be in. (If you chicken peck this code means nothing.) So the way you would say, "I like chicken wings" would be,"O ;olr vjobrm eomhd" like that. If you don't know how to do it. Come ask me, that will only work though if you are in our neighborhood, never mind.

I hope I showed my inner feelings about you Tiger. Hope you have a great day. Good night!

"The Hack Job"

Nothing like a bitter snowy day, a warm fire crackling, and a good mystery. Whilst lurking at your blog, one could not help but notice, a contest underway.  Try as I may, I could NOT resist.  Consider yourself and your contest....officially......HACKED!
Hmmmmm, something interesting to interject?  For starters, I come in peace. No worries about the personal safety of your self, or your fellow bloggers.  I applaud you for your creativity and whit.
I haven't much to say at this point, as my "JOB," beckons.  I shall have to close for now.  But know this...............I'll be back.  :)

The adventure continues????????

What can I say. I want to win the Bloggy award, and mrs. Nelson won it by this post. I thought it might work twice. Won't hurt trying.

February Bloggy Award :-)

Well, as you probably gathered from the post title, this post is about awarding the February Bloggy Award. As you probably also gathered if you looked back at the posts for February, there's really no surprise as to who won the Bloggy Award for February.
I'll wait while you go check out the February blog posts.
Anyway, the reason is that Tiger was the only person other than me to make a post in February, so there's really no surprise there on who won. (Slow LOTP month!) She won the Bloggy Award in February for the post called "Hello, hello, hello! :)" Congrats to Tiger, and I'll deliver the trophy to you as soon as it's made -- OOPS! I mean, as soon as I...dust it off. 'Cause I've definitely made it. I do NOT have two wine bottles sitting on my desk waiting to be made into the Bloggy Award and making me look like a fourteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy. DEFINITELY not.
That's all, folks. See you round the schoolyard! (Or on the other side of the glass. Either way works.)

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Hi, All!

Just letting you know that the Bloggy Award for February will be awarded by me very soon. And keep in mind that whoever wins for February gets to pick the March winner. Now won't that be fun! Imagine the power...the glory...
Anyway, also, I'm going to be done with my own personal editing of Sunset, Oregon pretty soon. At that point, I'll probably post the newest version on the blog and ask you all to read it again. Then, I will interview (hopefully in person!) those who I can.
And...I'm also entering Dreamer's contest. So far the working title of the story is The Worst Kidnapper in All of Human Existence. I might change it later. We'll see.
So that's it! See you on the other side of the glass! Do not trust suspicious figures on dark roads -- especially ones with green Twinkies in their hands.

And Now, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Moment You've All Been Waiting For...

  What is it?
The announcement of the February Bloggy Award?
A description of Thursday's Much Ado practice?
Installment 7 of the BDC out way too early?
Nope. In fact, it is way better! It is...dum, dum, dum, drumroll please...
EPISODE 44 OF THE CEILING FAN, CAN I GET A WOOT, WOOT AND A FIST PUMP PLEASE???!!!
Oh, yeah! Uh-huh! In the words of the Kentiest Kent there ever was... "Nntz nntz nntz nntz nntz!" (While swinging my fists in front of me in tight circles and making a general fool out of myself.) I guess I just guessed the wrong Thursday, am I right?
Anyway, it is up, and it is called "Episode 44: Should You Choose to Accept It..." We find out more about Phil, Rebecca (Westley), and...aw, that's going too far. Just listen to it.

Phil? A legend? Well, that was something, wasn't it? It was interesting...but it's next episode I'm really looking forward to. It's going to have the whole Twinkie incident, and I think we all want to know how that happened...and whether it was really Phil's fault or not.
I'll see you on the other side of the glass, and don't trust whoever was firing gunshots at the end of the episode if you meet them on a dark road.
-President Fantasy
P.S. Rebecca definitely works for Star Corp. You'll see. Mark my words, dear Sembers...mark my words.

Short Story....

Hello y'all Im back and better then ever! Templado here and I have some news...... I am writing a story for the short story contest. Its about... well... just go read it!

                                       ~One Hoof Away~

.... My heart pounded inside my chest, my breath hot on my skin. The icy November air grabbed all the warmth inside me yet I did not reach for my coat. " Come on Grand you can do it" I said to myself as I grabbed the horses mane before me. The horse I sat atop leaped to a canter and headed toward the towering jump layed atop the frozen arena footing.

The bay horse strided toward the jump and lifted herself off the ground. A strange feeling swept inside me as both I and the horse sailed over the jump.
" remember Emma lean back on the landing and let Grand do her job."  Both the horse and I came thudding to the ground yet despite the harsh landing I still sat in the saddle.
" Hello?" cried a small meager voice. At the far end of the arena stood a dark haired, fair skined boy. The boy had baby blue eyes and a ragged red T-shirt with a picture of a stag on it. Atop his coco brown hair layed a fadded cowboy hat that was far to big for his head.
"Come on inside the arena!" I said as I slowly pulled Grand to a halt. "Who in the world is that?" I thought to myself and I dimounted the equine and undid her girth to the last hole...........

Thats all for now yall but there will be more!

                                                        -Templado
