Yippee, I already finished TWO ENTRIES!!!!!! Congratulate me (just joking). I finished them last night, they are called "The Pencil of Death" and "Sonnet 3". Yeah I think the second name is the coolest lol. Oh I hope I win most creative on "The Pencil of Death" even though it is only two pages long. Oh I might be doing a report on chocolate. That would be funny!!!

(I hope I didn't waste your time, did I?) lol.
Storyteller’s Creed
I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
That myth is more potent than history.
That dreams are more powerful than facts.
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that love is stronger than death.

Major Production
Hiya! (To quote Richard Maxwell from "Waylaid in the Windy City, Part II," except for I didn't add the "Mr. Whittaker" at the end, because the full line is "Hiya, Mr. Whittaker!").
I just had an idea for our Magician's Assistant production that's not actually going to be The Magician's Assistant. It's kind of a Lord of the Rings / The Wizard of Oz musical type thing. Basically, it would be like a medieval setting, but with a joke about the standard outlines of fairy tales. For example, the subject of the prophecy comes in and the king says, "Get in line. We've got about twenty other chosen ones on various quests." And the bad guy is tired of everyone always defeating him, and he's determined to win this time.
We need to brainstorm, people!!! Write your ideas on the comment line if you want, or if it's an AMAZING idea make a post out of it. Check back and comment on what other people think. This will be fun.

Contest Update
Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that the contest has been extended to June 20th, to give you more time to put together entries. I cannot stress enough that the more you guys write on this contest, the more you will win. Also, I have decided to have an individual award for each of you -- that is, your personal best piece of work.
By the way, you can enter previously written stuff. Like, for example, if you wrote a short story for school, you could enter it. And your chapters on the blog...enter that too. ANYTHING goes, if not in the first four categories, then in the fifth. (Creative Writing).
There you have it. See you on the other side of the glass, and don't trust Phil if you meet him on a dark road. (www.ceilingfanpodcast.com).

P.S. Look for the new quote of the week (now month)

Close of the Polls
We have some winners! Here are the results of our polls:
Winner for the best book ever: The Astian Tales.
Winner for the silliest post ever on this blog: Cat is Crazy, with No Title as a close second.
Winner for the best line in a book: "We could have been killed! Or worse, expelled." -Hermione Granger
I've decided that I don't constantly need to advertise Odyssey on here, since we're all AIO fans now. But I DO need to do this. Go to http://www.whitsend.org/radio/ and look at the bar on the right side of the screen. Find the episode called "The Mysterious Stranger, I" and click on Listen Online below it. It is an AMAZING episode, but mildly creepy. To warn you: It does have a phone call with someone whispering "Beware" on the other line, but it's Odyssey. It's not that bad. Once you finish that, click on "The Mysterious Stranger, II" and listen.
What the heck? Here's a picture:

Super Secret Post: Do Not Read Under Any Circumstances!!!
Now that you've broken the rules and read the post, you might as well hear everything.
Loyal club members, I am officially announcing a new contest!!!
Yes. This contest begins right now, and ends on June 15th. I will give the contest details here:
Basically, this is a writing contest. There are four categories: Short Stories, Poetry, Scripts, Reports, and Creative Writing. In each category there will be four prizes awarded: Funniest, Most Creative, Best Planned Out, and Best Overall. (Some of these prizes will have different names, but you get the gist of it.)
You may enter anything into these categories. You may enter as many pieces as you want. Twenty poems and thirty short stories are just fine, but the prizes can only be awarded to one each. For example, only one of your short stories can be awarded for Funniest, even though one the same person wrote all twenty.
Short Stories: They will be judged on their humor, creativity, and overall cleverness. While humor is an asset, well-timed humor is essential. For example, if your story is simply meant to "be funny", then it may not actually end up being very funny, because there was nothing but jokes in it. You also may have a very interesting or original story. Remember, you're not necessarily going for Funniest, Most Creative, or Best Planned Out. You could want Best Overall! (Extra prizes may be awarded for outstanding stories.)
Poetry: Poetry should give a message with a certain style. It can be humorous, or creative. It's the same prizes as the Short Stories.
Scripts: Scripts could be screenplays, plays, or skits. It's the same prizes as everything else.
Reports: Yeah, I know, school reports, blecch...but these are very different. You could write a report explaining why Richard Maxwell is the hero of Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes. Or maybe tell about how the President of the United States is an alien.
Creative Writing: Anything that doesn't fit into the other categories. Songs, ideas, weird stuff...submit it here. It does have to be writing, though. But if it's writing and it's creative...go ahead.
If you have any questions, leave a comment. The prizes will be certificates and just maybe something special. Additional prizes and categories may be added as needed.
Once you have all your entries ready:
Make a post titled "(Your name's) Contest Entries". Or make separate posts for each entry, depending on how many you have. Identify what category it's in, and any additional information necessary. Have the contest entries in by June 15th. The contest winners will be announced around June 20th.
Be creative, and have fun in the Lords of the Pencil First Annual Fantastic Writing Contest of Awesomeness!
And here's your Odyssey of the day:
