Storyteller’s Creed

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

That myth is more potent than history.

That dreams are more powerful than facts.

That hope always triumphs over experience.

That laughter is the only cure for grief.

And I believe that love is stronger than death.

Listen and Weep

Episode 40 of the Ceiling Fan is out INCREDIBLY early (for the first time in Ceiling Fan history!), and poor Ethan is worried that he may have lost his best friend!
He sings a song written to Jimmy Barclay, a character from Adventures in Odyssey, but in the end, instead of Jimmy, he accidentally says Phil (his best friend). It's so sad!!!
Here. You can listen to it and cry.
In other less heartbreaking news, I have something else that's rather important to discuss. It has to do with A Text to Save the World.
Okay, peoples, we really need to figure this thing out. So I've called an emergency meeting for as soon as we can have it. But still, we need to think a little bit about it ahead of time. So I'm giving you just a little bit of homework. Don't worry, it's not a whole LOT of work. It's just very important work.
It's simple. I would like you to answer some questions. I've written them below in red, so you can't miss them. You can either answer them in your head, or on the blog, or on paper. If you can answer them in a physical form so I can read the answers, that would be great. If you can't, that's fine too. Just answer them and be prepared to answer them again whenever we have our meeting. (You can answer them in a super long comment too, if you want.)
All right, so, here are the questions:

Questions for A Text to Save the World:
#1: Flicker. What is he like? What adjectives describe Flicker? If he had a choice to either save the enemy and lose something important or let his enemy die, which would he choose? Does he have heroic qualities? Does he have villainous qualities? Is he like his dad? How has his life been so far? Is he special, as Notch says, or is he not? Why does the reader like or dislike Flicker?
#2: Hope. Who is she? How did she meet Mr. Notch? How does she feel toward him anyway? Why should the reader like/dislike her? Does she have heroic or villainous qualities? What adjectives describe her?
#3. Notch. How is he special? What's his great power? What is he best/worst at? What are his strength/weaknesses? How does he really feel toward Hope? How does he feel toward Simile? What is his backstory? (We have this mostly figured out, but think deeper. Where did he grow up? Was he the popular or unpopular kid? Why did he join Simile? What about Evan Peterson's death made him change so drastically?) How does he feel toward Flicker? What adjectives describe him?
#4. Simile. Who is she? What are her diabolical schemes? Why does she seem like a good guy in the beginning? What makes her so different from Notch? At first glance, why does Notch seem like the villain and Simile the hero? How does Flicker choose between them, in the end?
#5. Minor Characters. Shorty, Xaq, Detective Don't...How much should these characters be involved? What roles do they play, i.e., comic relief, etc.? What other characters need to be involved? What other characters are necessary, either to develop the story itself or simply other characters?
#6. Plotline. What happens? Who does what? What characters interact with each other? What kind of situations does Flicker find himself in? This is the most important one. Just think about the general events of the story, and what should happen.

There you are. You don't have to answer every question in detail, just the ones that pop out at you. And don't kill yourself over them. We're going to answer all of them at the meeting anyway. It will just be shorter if we have an idea ahead of time. I know you're all getting your contest entries together, and you're doing a fine job, might I add. Here's a few hints about some of the winners of the Poetry category: The Funniest prize was a tie between two poems, but neither one won anything else. Another entry won in at least two categories, but neither of those categories was Funniest.
Well, I hope you have fun answering the questions, I hope that you cried with Ethan, and I hope you don't trust Phil if you meet him on a dark road. See you on the other side of the glass!

Well, no one's posted a comment, so I will.
President Fantasy, that was...I don't know. I'm not sure. Ask Tiger. Or Horse Love. Or Dreamer.
