Storyteller’s Creed

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

That myth is more potent than history.

That dreams are more powerful than facts.

That hope always triumphs over experience.

That laughter is the only cure for grief.

And I believe that love is stronger than death.

My Long Summary [I am writing more now...]

This is my REVISED long summary of  A Text to Save the World.  If you don't like it and it makes no sense what so ever, comment. If you do like it and it does make sense, comment. President Fantasy, if mine is too much like yours, comment.  So COMMENT,  please.

 Here it goes...                                                   My Summary

There was a girl named Simile. She was a bright, clever child. She had ideas that surprised everyone. Brilliant ideas. When she finished college, she wanted to go into the government; to put her genuis ideas to good use. For a while, she was a hard worker- spewing out ideas as fast as people could use them. One time, she went too far. She had discovered a very dangerous virus [the kind that get into your body Not the one that is on a computer. ]One that could cure seemly uncurable diseases. The government said it was full of too much danger. It could kill millions of people, if it was used a tiny bit differently than the plan said. If it was made wrong, it could send the viruses it was supposed to kill into your body. Some could spread to other people if you had it. So they shunned her. Disposed of her. Whatever phrase you like best to use to get rid of something.
After that, she vowed her revenge. She would build this thing, and be praised for her work forever. But she decided that she couldn't build it herself. She needed someone that was as smart as her, and would be willing to work under the government's over large nose. Enter Notch.
Notch was clever child as well. His father was an army man, and he worked with highly nuclear bombs [not the atom bomb!] and he couldn't have a child underfoot. He told his wife that he couldn't let his own child get to know  him. If his son touched something dangerous, boom. No more base. Everyone go bye-bye. And he would be blamed. Besides, he had never wanted a child. His wife was better, but she wasn't so keen on the idea ethier. Another reason he didn't want a child was that he was always at the base. He couldn't deal with his son all the time. So his wife took care of him, but she didn't really love him. She LIKED him, but he was too different from her to make her love him. He was... abnormally smart. Too eager to learn everything. So she raised him to never know about his father. He was allowed at the base, but he could never talk to anyone. He needed his wits to survive the toughness of the army camp. He wasn't allowed to touch anything, and he couldn't do one thing wrong, otherwise he would have to go back home. Finally, Notch grew sick of it. His mother had never loved him and his father never cared. So he ran away and met Simile.
Finally, there was someone was like him! He willingly agreed to work for her. After all, the government was his enemy. They had gotten his father never to see him; keeping him at the base all the time and not letting him help out with the army things at the camp. So Simile trained him, and made him do countless jobs. He didn't care. Here was a women who liked his hard work! So, he started helping her. Only... they didn't count on one thing. Enter Evan Peterson.
Evan was a really nice guy. He also worked for the army as well [ I am noticing a lot of government in this story], and he had a child and wife that he loved. One night, he got a phone call. It was from a a person called " Notch". He was asking for a very dangerous serum. Evan knew it was someone that could be league with someone who disliked the government. So he said he would deliver it in person. Notch didn't know that he was in the army, AND that he was an important man too. When Notch got the door, Evan came in and started asking question. Nosy questions. so Notch took one a wrench and knocked him out.  Evan was moved away to an empty warehouse far away. Notch didn't realize that Evan was waking up. He heard Notch talking to himself, and at that moment, Evan and Notch became enemies.
After that, they battled and brawled, planned and schemed, but still, Notch and Simile were building the object. Evan was always trying to see what they were creating, but Simile made sure that they worked in secret. Finally, after many delays, the virus was built. Evan was devastated. He had failed. Though- he didn't give up. He got to their warehouse and tried to stop them. Little did he know that Simile was done with Notch. She had to "get rid" of him, else he could spill out what she had built. So she left them in the nuclear plant, and told Notch to touch nothing until he found the biggest bomb in the house and disable it. Then he could touch whaever he wanted. Notch didn't belive her for once. He had seen what these could do. So he didn't touch anything. But Evan thought Notch had the dangerous weapon, and so he attacked him. Notch was blown backwards into an explosive. Boom. As the building was coming down, Evan realized what he had done and threw Notch out of the building, saving his life but ending Evan's.

I will finish this later. Hope you like it!

  1. That's great!
Okay, I'm starting to piece this together. The one thing about your summary is that I think Notch needs to come from a very dangerous background, one where you really NEEDED to be smart and prepared to do anything to survive. It would explain his character a lot.
Also, the weapon is Hope! THAT'S it!!! But how can Hope be a weapon?
    What if she is a...a...
    A virus?
Let's go back to the virus idea. It's subtle, it's easy, it's the perfect way to kill lots of people.
But what if the same virus is also an antidote for, say...cancer?
Then it could either "save the world or destroy it", depending on how the person wishes to use it.
Notch would never tell Hope, though. He would wait until she was older, and Simile was gone, or never do it at all. His motto is "save the world, but do whatever it takes" but he has to care. I mean, he's telling Hope that she's a weapon/antidote...
    That's all.
    For now.
    Peeps.

  4. I do like it. I like the detail, and the fact that Notch knocks Evan out with a wrench.
One fact: We all agree that Hope is the weapon, right, and that she is inserted with the virus/antidote, right?
    Just making sure.
